New Course: Introduction to Webcomics Now Open for Enrollment!

beck-bioComics Experience is excited to offer a new course: Introduction to Webcomics! Led by Gannon Beck and Bryan Richmond, this course will teach you everything you need to know in order to launch comics online.

NOTE: Enrollment time is extremely limited, with class beginning September 18. Don’t wait to secure your spot!

Lack of technical skills shouldn’t discourage you from getting your comics in front of an audience.

Making webcomics is an art form in itself. It’s also a great option for any comic creators looking for a venue. So whether you’re creating a comic designed specifically for online viewing, or you’re looking to explore the web as a place to show your work, this course is for you! Even if you DON’T write or draw comics, but still want to learn the process of creating a comics site… this course is for you, too!

Over the course of four weeks, Bryan and Gannon will teach you everything you need to know about setting up a site and getting your comic in front of readers. They’ll explain the technical, financial, and audience-building aspects of creating your webcomic!

Gannon and Bryan are co-creators of the ongoing science fiction webcomic Space Corps (along with fellow CE staffer Joey Groah). As creators themselves, the instructors have been through the trenches of launching a webcomic from scratch. They’ll share the full breadth of their experience to help you build on their successes and avoid potential pitfalls.

Space CorpsGannon is also a graphic designer and illustrator with over 20 years of experience. His design business, OO-RAH.com, creates designs for over 2000 military units stationed around the world.

Bryan is a writer whose experience includes sketch comedy, animation, and, of course, comics. He’s presented conference panels about webcomics and online community building, and has 11 years of professional experience in the information technology field. Bryan’s tech background has given him extensive knowledge of the underlying technologies that make webcomics happen!

Introduction to Webcomics will meet Thursdays from 9PM-11PM Eastern time. All classes are held LIVE online, with class recordings also available for later viewing. You’ll also have access to an online course forum that allows you to interact with the rest of the class throughout the week.

Introduction to Webcomics begins September 18 – visit our course page for all the details, and to enroll now!
