Dark Horse associate editor Jim Gibbons joins the Creators Workshop 10/29/13

jimgibbonsWe are pleased to announce that Dark Horse associate editor Jim Gibbons will be our special guest on the Creators Workshop, this Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

Jim will be joining us for a live, online session, discussing all aspects of being a Dark Horse editor, a former comics journalist and publicist.

Jim was a comic book journalist (Wizard magazine, CBR) and comics publicist (Dark Horse Comics) who now works as an associate editor at Dark Horse Comics. Jim edits such titles as The Black Beetle, Captain Midnight, Brain Boy, Polar: Came from the Cold, Blood Brothers, as well as the upcoming series Furious, Juice Squeezers, and Skyman.

Dark-Horse-Comics-logoHe also works alongside Dark Horse president and publisher Mike Richardson on the 80-page monthly anthology Dark Horse Presents, which won the Eisner Award and the Harvey Award for Best Anthology in 2012 and 2013. He previously assisted on Brian Wood’s critically acclaimed, epic ongoing series The Massive and Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain.

In the press release annoucing Jim’s promotion to associate editor in 2013, Dark Horse president Mike Richardson said, “Jim has quickly established himself as one of Dark Horse’s bright, up-and-coming editorial staffers. His hard work on Dark Horse Presents helped to win us the industry’s two major awards. I am certain that with the same level of dedication he has shown thus far, he and the books he works on will win many more for Dark Horse in the future.”

On the creator front, Francesco Francavilla, creator of The Black Beetle said, “Jim brings all the best qualities a creator can hope for from an editor: he pushes you to do your best work, kicks your butt when you are behind, and buys you a beer when you are done. I’m lucky to have him on my team.”

We are excited to have Jim joining us as a guest at the Creators Workshop!

There’s still time to join us for the discussion, and we hope to see you there.
