"I've worked on only a handful of projects with Andy, but know him very well both from my persistent and regular intrusions into the Marvel offices and our social get togethers with other professionals.  It was obvious to me that Andy was smart, intuitive, ambitious and had a great capacity for working with people.  Andy loves what he does and he's darn good at it.  We could all learn a lot from him."

--Klaus Janson
(Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Daredevil, World War Hulk, The Avengers)

"Ever since meeting this person on Match.com, my life has improved for the better.  I truly feel as if I've found my soulmate.  Wait, which site is this for, again?"

--Mark Waid
(Writer of Irredeemable, Flash, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Justice League of America, and Kingdom Come)

“Andy is a phenomenal editor. He's got a wealth of experience and ideas, and has the ability to inspire others to amazing results with their own abilities. Networking is one of his many strong suits, as is his level head, consistency and focus on producing the best product possible. Working with Andy has been one of the most positive experiences of my career.”

--Tom Smith
(Color Artist, JLA / Avengers, Brave and the Bold)

"Andy was always an inspirational editor to work for.  A detail man who never lost sight of the big picture..."

--Mike Carey
(Writer of X-Men Legacy, The Unwritten, Lucifer, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate Vision, and more!)

COMIC CREATORS WORKSHOP

The Comic Creators Workshop is an online community made up of people who are serious about making comic books—whether writing, penciling, inking, painting, coloring, editing—anything!

By joining this community, you'll surround yourself with a group of colleagues committed to success. You'll have your work critiqued by fellow writers and artists—plus professional comic book writers, editors, and artists. And you'll have the opportunity to learn by critiquing the work of others!

And did we mention how much fun this is? In addition to being serious comic creators, we also make sure that comics stay fun—a highly under-appreciated part of the creative process!

Professional quality writing and artist groups, circles, and workshops have been a proven method for getting published in all areas of writing and art for decades. Now, the Comic Creators Workshop brings that same approach to comic books.

If you're serious about breaking in, getting published, or just getting better, and want to have a good time doing it, you've come to the right place.

Here's what you'll have access to each month:

• The Comic Creators Workshop meets online every fourth Tuesday of the month for two hours, starting at 9:00pm EST. Sessions are recorded so you’ll never miss one.
• Andy Schmidt (former IDW Senior Editor, former Marvel Editor, and comic writer) will do a critique of work posted by a member.
• Andy will either be joined by a special guest or will provide a monthly Question & Answer session with the whole workshop, where you'll get access to Andy's insight into the industry, tips on breaking in, publishers to know about, convention strategies, and more.
• At least one additional professional comics editor, writer, or artist will review an Editor's Pick script and portfolio each month, and post a written critique for the entire group.* Past guest reviewers have included Peter David, Jason Aaron, John Romita, Jr., Jim Cheung, and Alan Heinberg!
• Post your own comics scripts, outlines, pitch documents,or artwork to be reviewed by other members.
• Learn more about the craft of creating comics by giving feedback to others on their scripts and art portfolios. If you've never critiqued the work of others, you'll be surprised at how much it will improve your own skills!
• Gain access to the members-only Comic Creators Workshop Forum where you can hold discussions, ask questions, and read great advice or articles on creating comics and breaking in to the industry, all month long!
• Join in on our occasional Book Club Live Discussions. You'll get the group's collective analysis and discussion on the book, as well as Andy's professional review. And guest creators associated with the book under discussion sometimes attend! Past guests have included Robert Kirkman, Kurt Busiek, Christos N. Gage, Chris Samnee, John Layman, Rob Guillory, and Jason Aaron.
• Network with fellow comic book creators in a fun, no-stress, and "flame-free" environment—for support, encouragement, and inspiration.
• Comics Experience founder/editor/writer Andy Schmidt is joined by renowned ex-Marvel editor/writer/artist/webcomic creator John Barber and writer Rob Anderson. They'll all be on-hand to set up challenges and give art feedback... and stir things up and keep things lively!
• Both writers and artists will be invited to participate in optional, periodic storytelling challenges to enhance your creativity and hone your "story problem-solving" skills.

Just imagine how all of this will raise your game! Now, turn your brain on, get your computer warmed up, and get ready to make some comics!

Traditional workshops can be expensive. But the Comic Creators Workshop is priced at only $29.99 per month. Or, sign up for six months for $149.95 (with savings equal to one month free). Under either billing option, you will be billed automatically. And you may cancel your subscription at any time.**

Enrollment is open to anyone interested in creating comic books. If you have any questions about the Workshop, email info@comicsexperience.com.
