CE alum and staff member Paul Allor and artist Juan Romera have launched their new creator-owned series, Strange Nation, from Monkeybrain Comics.
Issue #1 released on October 16, 2013 and is available for purchase on comiXology. You can also subscribe to future issues, and won’t be charged until each new issue is released.
Strange Nation is a madcap tale of tabloid myths, and will be appearing monthly, for just 99 cents. The first issue features 22 pages of story, and future issues will have 12 to 14 pages of story each, along with back-matter a-plenty.
In fact, Paul has been featuring a series of stunning pin-ups each day on the Strange Nation Tumblr blog, which you can view right here, including a pin-up by CE alum and staffer Gannon Beck.
The book is edited by another CE alum and staff member Rob Anderson, with design work by Tim Daniel.
“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Monkeybrain family, and so appreciative of publishers Chris Roberson and Allison Baker for all their support,” Paul said.
Monkeybrain Comic’s website is designed to be a home for quality creator-owned comics made available in digital format via the Comics By comiXology platform. The Onion AV Club has named Monkeybrain Comics the “premier destination for high-quality digital comics,” and IGN has said that Monkeybrain is “the company that seems to be doing [digital comics] best.” Monkeybrain is also the home of the multiple Eisner Award-winning series Bandette.
Congrats to Paul and Juan! Make sure to check out Strange Nation.
