Drones tells the story of two Predator drone operators caught in a series of mishaps and adventures at a terrorism-themed Vegas hotel.
The writer is Comics Experience alum and Creators Workshop member Chris Lewis, who developed each of the five original Drones script on the Creators Workshop.
Chris recalls his history as a member of the Comics Experience community:
“In 2010 I signed up for the Introduction to Comic Book Writing course. After 6 weeks of waking up at 3 a.m. for class (I live in Germany), I had produced a 5-page short story called Groove, about a disfigured X-Files-type special agent with a prosthetic alien voice box. It was not particularly good. But I dug it. And I kept at it.
Then came the monthly challenges […], failed starts to two more miniseries, and finally Drones. Two issues in and I knew it was time to find an artist and produce a book. Which we did. But not after receiving tons of advice from fellow CE members, and one particularly intense pro crit from Jim Zub (Skullkickers).
The resulting terrorism-themed satire would absolutely not exist without Comics Experience.”
The Drones creative team also includes artist Bruno Oliveira, colorist Cabral, and letterer E.T. Dollman – another Comics Experience alum and Creators Workshop member.
Drones is available now wherever comics are sold. Congratulations to the creative team!
