Have You Tried Comics Experience’s Free Resources?

Regardless of whether or not you sign up for our Creators Workshop, we at Comics Experience want any and all aspiring comics creators to enjoy access to information that will help them develop their skills and achieve their goals. That’s why we offer a range of completely free learning tools. We hope they’ll provide you with the inspiration to level up your writing and editing!

Our Make Comics Podcast comes out twice a month. Hosted by our CEO Andy Schmidt and Joey Groah (with the first 50 episodes co-hosted by Josh Flanagan of iFanboy), each 15-minute recording covers a different aspect of the comics industry. Feel free to email them your questions if they haven’t already been addressed!

Occasionally, we have videos available of the panels we’ve participated in at different conventions. See what our staffers and other established professionals have to say about their strategies for maneuvering all the ins and outs of the comic book industry. And keep checking back to see what else we might be sharing in the future!

Founded by Tim Simmons, the Script Archive houses comic book scripts donated by publishers and notable, influential creators alike. Most recently, we added the instantly iconic Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick. There are also works by Brian Michael Bendis, Neil Gaiman, Warren Ellis, Alan Moore, and other talents available for your perusal. Read them for a clearer view of how writers and artists communicate effectively one another, and to build your fluency for the language of comics.

If you want to see more of what we have to offer your growing comics career beyond our free resources, we hold classes throughout the year on a diverse range of relevant topics. Enrollment is limited to ensure every participant receives the attention needed to grow, so if you see one that piques your interest, it’s highly recommended that you sign up sooner rather than later. Our Creators Workshop nurtures growth in a community forum, with participants ranging from the greenest of the green to some of the industry’s most instantly recognizable names. Here, you can show off your work and get expert pointers on what you’re doing right and where you need to improve, ask questions and get thoughtful answers in response, participate in challenges, and simply shoot the breeze about your favorite reads.

No matter what path you choose to take, we wish all of you the best of luck in your creative journey through comics!
