Klay: Golden Gates and Bridges is a superhero comic about a shape-shifting sidekick tasked with solving a murder mystery in two different realities! The project is written and lettered by CE course alum and Creators Workshop member Lex Wilson, with art by Jason Strutz. The Kickstarter runs for an extremely limited time, ending on November 3, 2014! Another standout feature of the project: Jason illustrates the story in two distinct art styles in order to reflect the story’s two realities!
The project has its origins with Lex’s previous Kickstarter, the Eagle Award-winning The Time of Reflection. That campaign offered to reward one backer with a comic starring him- or herself. The reward project evolved into Klay – a story that combines super heroes, multiple realities, and crime noir!
The Klay Kickstarter’s super-short time frame allows the creators a chance to make the comic available for NCComicon, November 15 and 16, where both the writer and artist will be in attendance.
In an effort to support locally-owned comic book retailers, the Klay Kickstarter also includes a unique offer: for every backer pledging $10 or more, the creators will send a printed copy of the comic to the supporter, and to his or her favorite comic shop!
Other incentives include exclusive prints, signed and numbered Scriptbooks, original art, an original song composed and performed by Lex himself, and a starring role in a comic of your favorite genre!
With the clock ticking on the campaign deadline, now’s your chance to check out the project and support it right here!
Best of luck to Lex and Jason!
