Comics Experience is offering a brand new course — Writing for the “Big Two” & Licensed Characters — starting August 12th. There are no required prerequisites for this course; all are welcome!
This is your chance to learn what it takes from former Marvel and IDW Editor Andy Schmidt, who worked on nearly every Marvel character, in events like Civil War and the Annihilation Saga, and then went on to handle the Transformers and GI Joe properties for IDW.
This will be a 5-week course in which you’ll get a hands-on simulation of what it’s like to be working with a Big Two editor. You’ll learn the do’s and don’ts for being successful on your gig. The course will also shine a light on the reality of this kind of work environment.
In other words, it’s all the stuff Andy wished his newbie writers at Marvel & IDW already knew when they first came through the door!
This is a great opportunity to get a leg up on work-for-hire gigs.
Our courses are offered LIVE, streaming online, and you can attend from wherever you live. You’ll be able to see your instructor and his desktop, interact with your classmates, and discuss your classwork in real time. Recordings are available during the duration of the course if you miss one, and you’ll be able to communicate with your classmates all week long in a special, dedicated online forum for just you and your class.
