New Course: Introduction to Writing for Television!

Television is home to some of the most exciting and groundbreaking storytelling happening today. And now, you have the opportunity to learn television writing from someone currently working in the industry!

about_kyleIn Introduction to Writing for Television, instructor Kyle Pennington (Lost, Star Wars: Clone Wars) will offer instruction on the technical and creative aspects of TV writing. You’ll learn about subjects like format, structure, and character, while helping you develop your ideas to their full creative potential.

But we won’t just cover the writing process – Kyle will also share his professional insights about the television industry, and reveal tips on breaking in. By the end of the 7 weeks, you will have taken an initial idea and developed it into a 7- to 15- page scene or act!

Kyle Pennington began his career as a Post Production Assistant, Writers Production Assistant and Writers Assistant on Lost, and worked his way to a promotion to Staff Writer. Over the years, Kyle has honed his craft by working with some of the best writers in the television industry!

Writers of all levels and formats are welcome, and there are no prerequisite courses. We’ll meet online every week in an interactive classroom, where you’ll be able to ask questions, receive feedback, and conduct discussions directly with Kyle and your classmates!

If you need to miss any class sessions, you’ll have access to recordings for later viewing. And as with all Comics Experience courses, we’ll offer an interactive online forum for posting works in progress and conducting other ongoing discussions throughout the week!

We’ll be announcing course dates soon — continue to watch this space for updates!
